Model Context Protocol

Give Your AI Assistant Access to Your Social Media

Socialic MCP is a hosted Model Context Protocol server that connects your AI assistant directly to your Socialic account. Describe a post — it drafts it, checks it against each platform's rules, and schedules or publishes it for you.

WORKS WITH · Connectors (claude.ai and similar apps) & MCP clients (Claude Code, Codex, and other coding agents)

Two ways to connect

MCP servers get added to AI tools in one of two common shapes — pick whichever your tool uses.

As a Connector

claude.ai, and other AI apps with a Connectors / Integrations settings screen

1

Add the connector

Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, then paste this URL:

https://mcp.socialic.app/mcp
2

Sign in and set permissions

It redirects straight to Socialic's login screen — sign in and approve. You're then shown each tool with an Always allow / Ask each time / Never toggle.

3

Start chatting

Ask it to "list my Socialic channels" to confirm the connection.

Connected, with per-tool permissions.

As an MCP server

Claude Code, Codex, and other coding-agent CLIs

1

Register the server

In Claude Code:

claude mcp add socialic \
  --transport http https://mcp.socialic.app
2

Authenticate it

Run /mcp, select socialic, and choose Authenticate. It opens Socialic's login screen in your browser — sign in and submit, and the token is picked up from the redirect automatically.

3

Start chatting

Ask it to "list my Socialic channels" to confirm the connection.

Either way, once it's connected: "schedule this to Instagram and LinkedIn for tomorrow at 9am" — required fields get filled in and confirmed before anything is sent.

What it looks like

AI Assistant · connected to Socialic
Post this to Instagram and TikTok tomorrow at 9am ET: "New blog post is live — link in bio."

Both channels are connected. TikTok requires a video or up to 5 images — what should I attach?

What your AI assistant can do

Six tools, registered automatically once you connect — the right one gets called based on what you ask for. When added as a Connector, you can also set permissions per tool (always allow, ask each time, or never) — most people leave the five read-only tools on always-allow and set scheduling to ask each time.

Claude Code's Tools for socialic screen listing socialic_list_channels, socialic_list_channel_timeslots, socialic_list_media_files, and socialic_list_timezones as read-only, plus socialic_schedule_post

The same six tools, as seen from Claude Code.

socialic_list_channels

See every channel connected to your Socialic account — platform, status, caption limits, and exactly what each one requires before you can post.

socialic_schedule_post

Create a scheduled or instant post across one or more channels, with per-platform overrides — YouTube visibility, TikTok privacy, Pinterest board, and more.

socialic_list_scheduled_posts

Pull up what's already scheduled or published, filtered by date range.

socialic_list_channel_timeslots

Check each channel's next available posting slot so it can pick optimal timing automatically.

socialic_list_media_files

Reference an image or video you've already uploaded to Socialic's file manager by name — no need to re-upload it.

socialic_list_timezones

Look up any IANA timezone so posts get scheduled in the right local time.

One-click shortcuts

Socialic MCP also registers four prompt shortcuts — workflow starters your client can surface directly (e.g. as a + or slash-command menu).

socialic_channels

List your channels and spell out every option available for each one.

socialic_draft_post

List channels → draft copy → confirm required fields → schedule, in one flow.

socialic_timezones

Look up a timezone by name.

socialic_scheduled

Show your scheduled and published posts as a table.

Frequently asked questions

Still curious what MCP actually is? Read what is Socialic MCP?, see every tool and prompt shortcut with sample exchanges in what Socialic MCP can actually do, or jump straight to scheduling a Meta post or YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, or LinkedIn.

Do I need a Socialic account already?

Yes — Socialic MCP schedules to the channels you've already connected in your Socialic account. If you don't have one yet, sign up free on the dashboard first, connect a channel, then come back and connect your AI client.

Does scheduling through MCP cost extra?

No separate charge. Posts created through MCP count against your normal Socialic plan usage, exactly the same as posts made in the web app.

Is my Socialic login shared with my AI client?

No. Authentication happens through Socialic's own login screen in your browser. Your AI client only ever receives a scoped access token it uses to call the Socialic API on your behalf — it stores and refreshes that token itself, and your password never passes through it.

Which platforms can I schedule to?

Whatever you've already connected in Socialic: Facebook Pages, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Threads, and Pinterest.

Can I attach images or videos?

Yes — hand it an https:// link, or point it at a file already sitting in your Socialic media library, and it's attached the same way the dashboard does it.

What if a post breaks a platform's rules?

Socialic MCP checks the same rules the dashboard enforces before anything is submitted — caption length, required fields, media count and type per platform. If something's missing, your AI client is told exactly what to ask you for, and nothing gets posted until it's fixed.

Which AI clients can I use this with?

Any of them, in one of two shapes. As a Connector — a settings-screen integration with built-in login, like claude.ai's Connectors — or as an MCP server you register yourself, like Claude Code or Codex. Socialic MCP supports both, so it works broadly across MCP-compatible AI assistants and coding tools, not tied to any single one.

What's the difference between a 'Connector' and an 'MCP server'?

Same underlying protocol, different setup experience. A Connector is a hosted integration you add from a settings screen — paste a URL and it handles login for you, the way claude.ai's Connectors work. An MCP server is something you register yourself, usually with a command or config file, common in coding-agent tools like Claude Code and Codex — you then trigger authorization as a separate step.

Let your AI assistant handle your posting

One server connects your existing Socialic account — as a Connector or as an MCP server, whichever your tool uses. No new login to remember, no dashboard tab to keep open.
